For many of us, a trip to the supermarket isn't the most exciting or glamorous part of our day. So how would you feel if a mob of classical musicians descended on your local supermarket?
That's exactly what happened in London when Classic FM set 18 musicians, 1 conductor and 8 singers with the task of surprising, entertaining and brightening the day of the shoppers and
workers with the beautiful sound of "Zadok the Priest", a coronation anthem composed by George Frideric Handel for the coronation of George II of Great Britain in 1727.
Lyrics: Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet anointed Solomon King.
And all the people rejoic'd, and said:
God save the King! Long live the King!
May the King live for ever,
Amen, Allelujah.
