Little Richard (1932 ' 2020), a founding father of rock and roll was an American singer, songwriter, and musician.  His dynamic music and charismatic showmanship laid the foundation for rock and roll, leading him to be given the nickname 'The Innovator, The Originator, and TheArchitect of Rock and Roll'.  Characterized by his frenetic piano playing and raspy singing voice, Richard's music also played a key role in the formation of other popular music genres, including soul and funk. 
"Don't Knock the Rock" is a 1956 American musical film starring Alan Dale and Alan Freed.  Directed by Fred F. Sears, the film also features performances by Bill Haley & His Comets, Little Richard, The Treniers, and Dave Appell and the Applejacks.
