Hole in One - 1 Million Dollar Golf Shot
Tiger Woods has played 1,044 holes of golf this season and has earned $9.7 million, or approximately $9,300 per hole.
Jason Hargett laughs at that figure.
With one swing of the club, Jason Hargett, a Utah restaurant manager, became a millionaire Tuesday while playing in the Mark Eaton Golf Classic. Hargett hadn't planned on playing due to a wrist injury, but entered at the last minute, used his brother's clubs, and qualified for one of six shots at the million dollar shot following the tournament.
Hargett used a nine iron at the 150 yard hole and while the shot landed about 10 feet long, it spun back and dropped right in, making him an instant millionaire. "I'm still in disbelief. I can't really comprehend what it means. I just keep seeing that shot over and over in my head and keep saying to myself, there's no way that it really went in," said Hargett.
Hargett told ESPN that his plans were to put money away for his children's education, check out the British Open next year, and possibly run with the bulls in Spain.
