Tesla Model S Test Drive - Washington to Boston
Can the all-electric Tesla Model S make it from Washington, D.C., to Boston without riding on a flatbed truck?
A reviewer in the New York Times said recently that he failed to make it, setting off a war of words with Tesla founder Elon Musk, who said the Times review was a "fake."
CNN took the challenge and decided to find out.
The all-electric car drove 450 miles with two stops to recharge at Tesla's Supercharger stations in Delaware and Connecticut.
The Tesla Model S is a full-sized electric four-door sedan.
The EPA official range for the Model S Performance model with an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is 265 miles (426 km),
making it the electric car with the greatest range available in the market.
Price (2013): US$59,900 (40 kW·h battery pack) up to US$79,900 (85 kW·h pack.)
